Gasunie’s subsidiary, EemsEnergyTerminal, has completed contracting for the capacity of a future terminal for receiving liquefied natural gas in the Groningen region, Gasunie reported.

The total capacity of the terminal is 8 billion cubic meters. Czech CEZ and Shell Western LNG BV jointly bought 7 billion cubic meters, and the last billion cubic meters was acquired by the French Engie.

It is expected that the first delivery of LNG through the terminal will take place in mid-September. The terminal will consist of two floating storage and regasification units – Exmar S188 and Golar Igloo. They are expected to arrive at the port of Eemshaven in early September.
